Frequently asked questions.

How often do i need to get my Refrigeration or Air conditioning serviced/maintained?

As a rule of thumb, domestic clients should see to have their air conditioning systems serviced every 2 years, if living in close proximity to the beach or the outdoor units are exposed to extreme conditions like salt corrosion, dense foliage or vermin issues. We then recommend these systems to be maintained yearly to help minimise problems.

Commercial clients should seek to have their equipment maintained on a yearly basis preferably on a maintenance schedule.

Critical systems like server rooms or refrigeration equipment we can set up a 6 monthly preventative maintenance schedule which can help reduce costly and lengthy breakdowns.

There is water dripping from my air conditioning is this normal?

During the process of removing heat from a space, under certain conditions condensate forms and as long as it goes out a drain point, this is perfectly fine. Like a split system running in heating mode, you will notice water from the outdoor unit.

However if you have water spilling over the front of the air conditioning system this may be an indication of a problem with the drainage system in which case you will need to contact us.

My Air conditioning/ Refrigeration system stopped working, what should i do?

The very first thing you can do is take note of any irregularities on the system. Are there blinking lights? has a code or an unusual symbol come up on the controller? did your lights flicker? note anything like this down in the case of blinking lights we always recommend to film them for 20 seconds for future reference.

second thing you should do is cut the power to the fridge or air conditioning system for 5 minutes. turn it back on then see if it operates again.

still no luck? give us a call

What is the best temperature to set my air conditioning system to?

To maintain a comfortable temperature in your home or office space, we suggest around 24-25 degrees in summer time, and around 20-21 degrees in winter time. However an office space may require slightly higher temperatures as the occupants sit for long periods leaving them feeling cooler.

As a rough guide, each degree higher you increase the set point in summer time can reduce your energy consumption by up to 10%.
